Acceptance Process - Why is my camper on the waiting list?

Our ultimate goal is to accept every camper who wants to attend camp. We do have a physical capacity at camp, but the required adult:camper ratio is what usually determines our capacity. Many factors go into the priority order of the acceptance process, but we always use the following guidelines:

  • Submitting registration and full payment allows us to process your camper's interest in attending - it does not guarantee her place at camp.
  • After registration, campers will either be "Confirmed" or on the "Waiting List".
    • Campers move from the Waiting List to Confirmed throughout the registration process with the last Confirmations taking place after late registration closes.
  • Campers on the waiting list do not have a spot at camp yet.
  • Campers are placed, and remain, on the waiting list until full payment is received.
  • Priority order is based on date paid in full, not the date registered, and if a camper is registered with an adult volunteer.
  • Campers who are registered with an adult volunteer always receive top priority.
  • Campers remain on the waiting list until we have the required amount of volunteers to meet adult:camper ratios.
  • Campers are placed in units by grade level, so sometimes we have openings for 6th graders, but all the units for a 2nd grader are at capacity.
  • Sometimes all it takes is 1 more all-week volunteer to open up a unit for 16 more campers!
  • We don't have a crystal ball and cannot predict who will sign-up to volunteer, so we often do not know if/when your camper will be moved off the waiting list.

Space at camp is limited by the number of adult volunteers. Campers who register with an adult volunteer will be given preference.

Late Registration

Registrations received after April 30 are assessed a $50 late fee. Please be aware that camp often fills during priority registration and we may not be able to accommodate campers who register late.

The camp fee may be refunded for a cancellation due to illness, family emergency, or a move. Requests for a refund must be made in writing to the camp director at least two weeks prior to the first day of camp (by July 1, 2019). A non-refundable $15 processing fee is applied to each camper.

After June 12, if we are at capacity and cannot accommodate your camper then we will issue a full refund.
